Certified wildlife biologist Bob Zaiglin invites the Destination Whitetail cameras to Texas, where he employs helicopters and a team of junior college students to study, manage and breed local white-tailed deer.
Tune in to the Sportsman Channel on Wednesday, oct. at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT to check out their unique breeding and management process.
To control the white-tailed deer that populate thousands of acres on a Texas ranch, Zaiglin and his team take to the air, using two helicopters to spot and capture carefully chosen deer with a rifle system that propels a net. The Destination Whitetail cameras are on site to document the entire process, one that is sure to excite viewers interested in land management and the future of breeding.
After capturing the deer in the net, they are able to airlift it to a new location. There, Zaiglin’s hand-picked team of 17 students wrangle the deer and record its statistics. Discover how this small team is working to enhance the breeding potential of Texas bucks.

Destination Whitetail, produced by F+W Outdoors, premiered in 2012 on the Sportsman Channel. The series investigates the people, places and ways to hunt whitetail throughout North America. In the 43 states that have deer populations, their habitat varies as greatly as the traditions and methods used to hunt them.
Destination Whitetail goes behind the scenes with some of the outdoor industry’s most prolific personalities and learns how whitetails have contributed to their success. After its first season, Destination Whitetail was named a finalist for the 2012 Sportsman Choice Awards for “Best New Series.”
