Since hitting the market, TenPoint’s ACUslide crossbows have quickly become a top choice for hunters partly because of the totally safe and silent ACUslide cocking and de-cocking mechanism integrated into the Vapor RS470, Vengent S440, Viper S400, Havoc RS440 and Siege RS410 models. The other reason why so many folks are interested in these crossbows is that they are extremely lightweight, compact, shoot at very high speeds, and generate bone crushing kinetic energy, all while maintaining nock-splitting down-range accuracy. But what really separates TenPoint’s ACUslide Series crossbows from others on the market are the subtle technological advances with respect to how these crossbows are designed.
TenPoint’s ACUslide crossbows are equipped with their patented MICRO-TRAC fluted aluminum flight rail. It provides a track upon which the trigger box slides down the flight rail to the string and then is cranked back up into its seated position to take a shot. The MICRO-TRAC rail also provides a stable and consistent launch surface for the arrow which is critical for achieving stable long range arrow flight and tight groups downfield. However, unlike many types of flight rail designs, the MICRO-TRAC is not a beveled track surface. Instead, the part of the track that contacts the arrow is radiused, which reduces the amount of surface area contact between the arrow shaft and the rail itself. This is significant because this radiused design greatly reduces the amount of friction the arrow experiences as it leaves the rail during the shot, resulting in greater stability after launch.
The MICRO-TRAC fluted aluminum flight rail also reduces the flight deck surface area that contacts the bowstring by an incredible 50%. This reduction in string-to-rail contact translates into greater arrow launch stability and is also part of the key to why TenPoint’s ACUslide crossbow strings can achieve 1,000 shots before requiring a change. No other high-performance crossbow in the industry can boast this extended string life. Another reason why TenPoint’s strings and cables last so long is because they use high quality BCY X-99 Bowstring and Angel Majesty for the servings in the construction, which are both well-known for displaying high strength and high abrasion resistance. The center servings on these crossbows are also double-served, or double-wrapped, to provide the high level of strength and durability needed for these high-performance models.
TenPoint’s ACUslide crossbows are also equipped with their S1 Trigger system, which boasts a two-stage zero-creep trigger that only requires a 3.5-pound pull. This two-stage system allows for greater trigger control for the shooter and makes shooting tighter, more accurate groups much easier. In addition, the S1 Trigger box has a Lock Latch that locks the trigger box in place after each time the string is cocked, removing tension from the cocking strap, and ensuring the trigger box is locked in the same position before each shot. This locking trigger box design is safer than other moveable, non-lockable trigger box designs on the market and is a whopping 48% more accurate according to TenPoint’s testing. The S1 Trigger box is equipped with a DFI (Dry-Fire-Inhibitor) and is fitted with a nylon-filament arrow retention brush that improves arrow grip and alignment to reduce noise and vibration.
