Starting with the September 2013 issue, Ted Nugent — deer hunter, rock legend and political commentator — returns as a monthly contributor to Deer & Deer Hunting magazine to provide regular commentary and insight into his views on and experience with deer hunting.
“Deer & Deer Hunting pretty much describes my glorious 65-year clean and sober, stealth-driven, backstrap-infested American Dream,” Nugent said of the magazine. “It thrills me to no end to return to the pages of this all-American classic hunting publication. I am honored and very happy to write in these Deer & Deer Hunting pages, and feel a deep kinship with my fellow American deer hunters everywhere.”

Nugent, a lifelong hunter and conservationist, hasn’t missed a deer hunting season in 64 years and enjoys hunting an average of 200 days a year.
In 2009, he was inducted into the National Bowhunters Hall of Fame and can be seen as the host of Outdoor Channel’s Spirit of the Wild. His Ted Nugent Kamp for Kids, which just marked its 25th anniversary, teaches hunter safety and firearms safety, among other things, and he’s constantly working to recruit new men and women to the sport.
Nugent will translate this expertise from years of real-life hunting experience into a monthly D&DH column, simply entitled “Ted Nugent,” which will touch on best his opinions, experiences, techniques, equipment and other aspects of the world of deer hunting.
