Deer & Deer Hunting contributor Don Higgins (www.HigginsOutdoors.com) was hunting in early January with Kevin Boyer over one of their soybean food plots in Illinois when this 6-year-old buck showed up.
Don made a killing shot as Kevin ran the video camera, and congratulations are certainly in order. However, the story didn’t end there.
The real surprise came later, when Don checked the Reconyx HP600 HyperFire video camera overlooking the site and found that the camera had actually caught a photo of the arrow passing through the buck. It’s not too often you see one of these pass-through shots caught on camera.
This buck happened to be the eighth one to pass the blind that afternoon as the deer entered a soybean food plot. Don and Kevin are co-owners of Real World Wildlife Seed Company.
