Shed antler hunting season is approaching soon. There’s some debate as to why deer lose their headgear, but it’s thought they do so because they need to conserve their energy during winter. Either way, it’s fun to watch them drop their antlers and try to locate them in spring. The trail camera video below shows a buck losing his antlers as he’s trying to dry off, and he seems startled as they fling onto his back.
