Breaking news on the story we brought you earlier this afternoon.
Just hours away from its red carpet premiere, the movie “First Winter” has been pulled from the lineup at the Tribeca Film Festival because the film allegedly includes footage of two deer being poached in upstate New York.
Also, as noted in Dan Schmidt’s Whitetail Wisdom blog post, the filmmaker and the actors might be facing a litany of wildlife and firearms violations.
In another development, www.dnainfo.com is reporting that the filmmaker admitted that the rifle his actor used to kill the deer was an unlicensed firearm.
We will continue to follow this story for more updates.
