Cops Say Fireman Poached Deer While on Duty

A local firefighter in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, is in deep trouble after allegedly shooting a deer without a gaming license while on duty. To make matters worse, the firefighter did not show up at court, which in turn led to a warrant for his arrest.

The city believes Brandon Ploof brought a gun to work, went to the back of the fire station where he works, and shot and killed a deer while on duty. What’s even more disturbing is that Ploof was showing people a picture of himself holding the head of the deer he killed.

After learning about the incident, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) wrote Ploof five citations, including one for hunting without a big game license.

When the fire chief questioned Ploof about the shooting, Ploof confessed immediately. When the chief asked what happened to the deer carcass, Ploof responded, “We skinned it and put it in the freezer here. Almost everybody enjoyed some of it.”

Ploof could be suspended or fired, but first he will have to deal with the warrant for his arrest.
