D&DH contributors Les Davenport and Scott Bestul both bagged dandy bucks this week as rutting action hit frenzied levels in their states.

Les Davenport downed his large 8-point while hunting near his home in central Illinois.
Les has had his eye on several larger deer this year, but he could not pass this buck
up when it came in and presented a wide-open shot. Plus, Les has another tag in his
pocket, which he has proclaimed will be saved for an even bigger deer!

Meanwhile, in Minnesota, Scott Bestul took home a tall-tined 10-point with his bow
during a peak-rut hunt just two days before the state’s gun season was set to open.

Congrats to Les and Scott on two mighty fine whitetails!
