Pradat was in the stand for a morning hunt in St. Helena Parish in Louisiana on Dec. 15. Wind chills were getting a bit nippy and he’d texted his brother to find out when they were heading back to camp.

That’s when the 18-point ghost buck they’d seen on game cameras stepped into the field. Pradat dropped some peanuts he was eating, banged his rifle on the stand and the buck kept coming to some doe pee he’d put out nearby.

“My twin brother had been blowing his grunt call 60 yards away from me all morning,” Pradat told Louisiana Sportsman magazine. “I’m sure between the grunt call and the doe pee everywhere, we ruined that buck’s day.

One shot from his .270 dropped the buck, which had 18 points and a 19.25 inch inside spread. The left side of the buck’s rack had 11 points! Padat plans to have it scored.
