I live in northwest, Mo. Bow season starts Sept. 15. I want to start hunting this giant asap. Is that too early to start ratteling and calling?

Contact grunts are your best option in the early season and only if you see him……if you blind call, more than likely, you will let him know something is wrong. Good luck…..he is a giant!!
watch for three things: the breakup of bachelor groups, peeling velvet and rubs. there may be exceptions but rubs and serious fighting usually won’t happen until antlers have hardened.
