Check out this impressive collection of big-bodied bucks! We have seen some pretty incredible white-tailed bucks these past few weeks. Big antlers are the norm, but there have also been some absolute slobberknockers (term for heavy deer) hitting the ground across deer country. With that in mind, we posed the question to all of the Deer & Deer Hunting Facebook fans: “What’s the Heaviest Buck You’ve Ever Seen?”
To get the ball rolling, take a look at this incredible buck. It is rumored to have been killed a few years ago in Upstate New York. It reportedly weighed 312 pounds field dressed!
Here’s sample of some of the replies we received to our question:
Justin McCauley, Nebraska: 412 pound Nebraska buck. The conversation officer in the middle is my cousin. He said it was the largest deer he’s ever seen. It was featured in North American Whitetail. To clarify I never saw it only what Robert told me. Made quite the buzz around here for a while.
Eyad Yehyawi, Iowa: Here is a trailcam picture of a buck we later weighed at 271 on the hoof. You can actually see me in the treestand at full draw just before I released my arrow.
Jesse Hefty, Wisconsin: My pre-rut eight point from wisconsin this year. 210 pounds dressed.
Jimmy Boggs, South Carolina: Massive for a South Carolina buck, 215 lb. 10 pt.
Aaron James, Maine: 216lbs first Saturday of December last year in Maine. Good one for Maine but they do get a lot heavier here.
Edward Sampson, New York: Waverly, NY 1997, 231 lbs dressed.
Kaye Alexander, Alabama: Alabama buck in 2011 while hunting with our granddaughter. He weighed 202.
Dave Blackburn, Pennsylvania: 307# live. I’m 6’5 and 290# in the pic and my hunting buddy was 6’3 or 6’4 and not as plump as I was at the time.
Lance Lindsey, Oklahoma: This big boy was 275 before I cleaned him.. Killed in NE Arkansas..
John Stockton, Illinois: My daughter got this one 268 field dressed.
Johnathan Barnett, Tennessee: Heres a Tenn 7 yr old brute, i knew he was ALOT bigger than the other deer as i watch em grow and at the time (him not being field dressed yet didnt help) of the pic but when the processor became curious to the weight, saying it was the biggest deer he’d ever taken in. He put em on a scale and when there was air between his rack and the concrete the scales were at 256 and yes that IS field dressed.
