The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is offering a complimentary lifetime hunting license to any hunter in the state who kills one of the tagged coyotes that were released into the state’s four game zones.
Sixteen coyotes have been tagged and released, according to the 2018 Coyote Harvest Release Incentive Program. Eight tagged coyotes released in 2016 have not been claimed yet, so there are potentially 24 coyotes that can earn hunters a free lifetime hunting license.
Hunters must save the carcass for verification to be able to get the free hunting license. The hunter can also give their license to another person of their choosing.
