Franchi — best known for its high-end over-under and semi-auto shotguns — is redefining how high-end deer rifles are made. Best of all, these new rifles are coming in at head-turning retail prices that have American whitetail hunters taking notice.
Introduced in 2020, the rifle family continues to grow with the introduction of three new chamberings and a new hunting camo pattern. New calibers include .300 Win. Mag., 6.5 PRC (Precision Rifle Cartridge) and .350 Legend for state hunting regulations calling for straight-walled hunting cartridges. The newest camo pattern available is Sitka OPTIFADE Elevation II complimented by the Cobalt Cerakote barrel, receiver and bolt handle. The rifle retails for $899; impressive, considering all of the built-in features.
The Momentum Elite rifle stock, patterned after the original Momentum’s revolutionary design combines raised curves and crisp checkering at strategic places along the rifle. This delivers an enhanced ergonomic feel and positive hold in the five most commonly used shooting positions. Sling-attachment points are recessed on the stock, eliminating the need for intrusive swivel studs. At the butt, Franchi’s popular TSA recoil pad absorbs up to 50% of the rifle’s felt recoil with integrated contours to offer more comfortable benchrest shooting positions.
The rifle’s RELIA Bolt features a one-piece, spiral-fluted bolt with three locking lugs for solid lockup to deliver increased accuracy. The cerekoted bolt handle has a short, 60-degree throw for faster cycling and is easy to disassemble when cleaning. The Momentum Elite features a two-position safety, which allows the bolt to be operated when the rifle has been made safe. Franchi’s proprietary RELIA Trigger delvers a crisp break and can be adjusted from 2 to 4 pounds.
The Momentum Elite’s barrel is a cold-hammer-forged chrome-molybdenum with a matte finish and free floated for enhanced accuracy. The ends of the threaded-barrel configurations (5/8 x 24 thread) are protected by a muzzle break that reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise. Each rifle is topped with a one-piece picatinny rail and features a detachable magazine for quick and easy reloading.
The Franchi Momentum Elite in .300 Win. Mag. and 6.5 PRC are available in the current camo/barrel finish combos currently offered by Franchi, including True Timber Strata/Midnight Bronze Cerakote and Realtree EXCAPE/Burnt Bronze Cerakote.
The new .350 Legend caliber Momentum Elite is designed for states with regulations for hunting with straight-walled centerfire cartridges and is only available in the new colors of Sitka OPTIFADE Elevation II/Cobalt Cerakote.
The original Momentum Elite rifles chambered for 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win. are now offered in the new Sitka OPTIFADE Elevation II camo pattern as well as the original patterns.
