As a voracious reader for more than 40 years, I can’t specifically pinpoint how many serious adult books I’ve read cover-to-cover over the years in a “can’t put it down” session.

I’m a fan of just about anything: magazines, books, newspapers, old history, political history, wildlife management and more. A magazine doesn’t last long in my hands. I have a Nook e-reader that I didn’t think I’d enjoy at first but now absolutely love it. I have a couple of 600-page books, Deer & Deer Hunting magazine and more on there in a lightweight take-along for trips or at home.

(By the way, you can get Deer & Deer Hunting for your e-reader by going here.)

One of the last can’t-put-it-down books I read, though, was the Deer & Deer Hunting’s “Guide to Better Bowhunting.” It’s just 128 pages in a nifty 6×9 format but within those covers are fantastic tips, secrets and just flat-out basic, fundamental bowhunting knowledge. I read it all in one night and then re-read it a few weeks later to digest it again.

I’ve shot a bow for more than 30 years. I don’t get into ballistic trajectory stuff or claim to know much of anything technical about bows. Like I am with firearms, I want something reliable that does what it’s supposed to do that I can be confident with and enjoy. But reading the Guide to Better Bowhunting helped me pick up a few more tips. It’s a super book and I plan to read it again.

You should read it, too, and it’s available in today’s Take40More sale in ShopDeerHunting.com with the code Take40More. Just apply that in the box at checkout and voila! That’s great savings you can use for more deer gear later, right?

This special deal ends today so stock up on our popular DDH logo gear, DVDs, books, hunting gear, deer recipes in our cookbooks, downloads of secrets and tips, and other super stuff. Be sure to tell your friends about it, too!
