Holster, Gloves Help Make the Most of Handgun Hunting

Handgun hunting is fun and challenging. It requires long hours of practice, testing for ammo, zeroing your optics, and becoming confident with it.

Before you head to the woods with a handgun, make sure you have the accessories needed to make your hunt a success.

For starters, you’ll need a good holster, something such as the Uncle Mike’s Side- kick shoulder holster ($47.95), which allows you to easily carry a large, scoped handgun. A bipod or tripod is also an essential, and I like RLD-2 adjustable models ($64.99), which are light enough to carry all day and offer firm support.

Handguns produce serious noise and muzzle blast, so I like Sport- EAR’s new Ghost Stryke hearing protection ($499), which allows you to hear every movement in the woods but blocks excessive noise when firing. Shooting hard-kicking magnums can be tough on your hands, so a pair of gloves such as Cabela’s Men’s Leather Handgun Gloves ($34.99) make it that much more comfortable.
