National television reporting by Nielsen, the industry’s most trusted brand in audience measurement, has – for a second time in 12 months – highlighted Pursuit Channel as the outdoor category’s value leader in big-audience influence.
Recently, Nielsen metrics reconfirmed Pursuit Channel as the only outdoor network since early 2018 to grow its sphere of active homes. Pursuit Channel’s Universe Estimate continues its surge past other similar networks. Since January 2018, Pursuit has increased its television-network universe to slightly less than 30-million homes, a distribution spike of 13.2 percent, while its third-place competitor has dropped to approximately 25-million homes, a decline of 7.1 percent during the term*.
As a result of its distribution growth, Pursuit increased its viewership delivery across all demographics, including males age 35 to 64, the highly sought demo Pursuit reaches 11 percent more of than its nearest competitor**.
“Say what you want, spin it however you like,” said Rusty Faulk, CEO of Pursuit Channel, “but, per Nielsen, the Pursuit margin of progress is historic when compared to the top field in outdoor television. And as more and more producers and manufacturers decide that spending less for more is the smart money in hunt/fish/shoot-lifestyle, the positive trajectory of Pursuit Channel can only continue.”
To best serve its late winter, spring and summer audiences, Pursuit has carefully blended its weekend schedules to showcase best-in-class hunting and world-class fishing, including the iconic Bassmasters television series, a centerpiece of the “Walmart Reel Life Saturdays presented by Berkley and Abu Garcia” programming block. Further, among all of the top-tier outdoor networks, only Pursuit Channel offers national network audiences destination weeknights of wall-to-wall fishing: “Strike Zone Tuesdays powered by Ranger Boats,” which features Cabela’s Fisherman’s Handbook, Federation Angler TV, Wild West Bass Trail, Texas Team Trail, Jimmy Houston Outdoors and On the Water with Hank Parker.
Pursuit Channel, a categorical leader in HD home delivery, is active nationally via DIRECTV HD, AT&T HD, DISH Network, Fios by Verizon HD and Centurylink Prism HD, Cox Communication and the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC). Additionally, PursuitUp, www.pursuituptv.com, provides free viewing for hundreds of hours of outdoor content through ROKU, Amazon Fire TV, iPhone and Androids.
