Big bucks, technological advances and the occasional controversy topped the year of whitetail deer hunting for 2013.
Records fell, with more awaiting scoring. Big bucks continue to be reported throughout the states with seasons still open, too.

Possible New Record: 244 Inches — Jim Baker’s monstrous nontypical buck was officially scored and is the Wisconsin record. It grossed 260-5/8 inches B&C and netted 249-5/8 inches!

Harrisburg Show Boycott — One of the hunting industry’ s major winter shows, the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show, better known simply as “the Harrisburg show,” was boycotted by exhibitors and fans due to an idiotic policy by the British-owned show management group about AR rifles and Modern Sporting Rifles. The show was canceled and the city and area took a major financial hit. A new show, managed by the National Rifle Association, will be held this year in its stead.
