Richard Page, a hunter and landowner in Portage County, Ohio, filmed his neighbor firing at him on his own 5 acres of land while he was trying to deer hunt. “I will be a hunter’s nightmare,” she yells in Page’s video.
The woman, whose name is Luanne according to Page, was not on her property when she began harassing him, but was actually on a different neighboring farm’s property. He told 3News he ran for his life as she shot at him, even leaving behind his orange vest. It took Page two hours to make his way home in the darkness that night. He enjoys hunting but can’t go because the neighbor is trying to protect the deer at the expense of humans.
Ohio law states residents can hunt on their own property as long as they own 5 or more acres, which Page does. According to him, other area landowners have also been harassed by Luanne. Page recorded the incident so he could report it to police. The Portage County Sheriff’s Office has an open case on the incident, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources says they will work with them for a resolution, according to 3News.
