Youth Disabled Deer Hunt Set for November

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and the Foundation for Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and ParksĀ  will host the first “Super Hunt: A Deer Hunt for Youth with Disabilities” in November.

This three day event is free to any disabled child ages 6 to 17. The hunt is scheduled to be held Nov. 1-3.

“This is a truly special weekend,” said Chad Dacus, MDWFP Wildlife Bureau Director. “Seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces makes all of the work on this event worth it. This event would not be possible without the support of many landowners, volunteers, and sponsors.”

In addition to the deer hunt, participants will enjoy activities such as fishing, archery, laser shot, interacting with live animals from the MS Museum of Natural Science, a display of emergency vehicles, and more.

Registration for hunters, landowners, and volunteers is open until Oct. 15 at foundationmwfp.com/SuperHunt.

The 12-Point sponsors of the MWFP Foundation Super Hunt include Bass Pro Shops, Mazzio’s Italian Eatery, Outback Steakhouse, and Primos Hunting Calls.

The MWFP Foundation works with the MDWFP to protect and preserve Mississippi’s wonderful wildlife heritage for generations to come. The MWFP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. For more information about the MWFP Foundation, visit foundationmwfp.com/SuperHunt.
