Still playing catch up. So, straight to today’s point.
Now, there may be an exception to what I’m about to say. In truly sprawling deer cover areas, with very little to no human pressure, would it be possible to kick a buck out of an area, simply by scouting, hunting turkeys, looking for sheds or picking mushrooms? I suspect there are extremely rare situations where that would occur.
In the rest of the real world, what would happen if mature bucks shifted their patterns every time they had encounters with humans? They’d never have any patterns at all and would be nearly constantly shifting their areas. In most of the world, we share this rock with the deer and they share it with us.
I personally think it’s a mistake to never go into what we designate as sanctuaries. So long as it’s somewhat limited and done almost exclusively months before season starts, I WANT to explore those areas for a whole bunch of reasons and I do. I merely try to bunch the activities into as few trips as realistic and keep them months away from season.
