A 300-plus inch nontypical buck that appeared at a recent Wisconsin deer and turkey expo was submitted as a fair-chase muzzleloader kill from 2024.

According to a D&DH source, a shoulder mount of the buck was presented to Wisconsin Buck & Bear Club officials on March 29 in Wisconsin Dells as part of the annual Open Season Expo.
The WBBC measured the deer at 312-plus inches nontypical gross, with a net score exceeding 306 inches. If it stands, this buck would shatter the current Wisconsin record.
For size perspective, the WBBC officially panel-scored a state record nontypical whitetail buck killed by Jim Baker while bowhunting Sept. 18, 2013, in Waukesha County. The “Jim Baker Buck” has 28 measurable points, a 19-7/8″ inside spread, and 66-6/8″ of abnormal points.
According to a source close to the story, the man who presented 2024 deer signed a fair-chase statement and presented an affidavit of the landowner of where the buck was allegedly killed. According to sources close to the WBBC, the man did not present a photograph of the deer after it was killed. The documents indicated the buck came from Marquette County.
Excitement over the buck has swirled across the Internet since the day the deer was displayed at the WBBC’s trophies room at the expo.
D&DH is unaware of any possible trail camera photos of the deer when it was alive.
