Two leaders in the archery broadhead and expandable segments now are owned by the same company following an acquisition of Muzzy Products Corp. by Muzzy Outdoors and parent company Feradyne Outdoors.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Feradyne owns several outdoors companies including Rage Outdoors, which makes the rear-deploying expandable Rage Broadhead, the new Rage Cage quiver and the Nockturnal brand of lighted nocks. The Georgia-based Muzzy Products Corp. has a popular array of fixed blade and bowfishing products.
“We are delighted to add Muzzy to our portfolio of businesses,” said Feradyne President and CEO Rich Krause. “For more than 30 years, Muzzy has offered the leading brand of fixed-head broadheads for bowhunters as well as a range of other innovative products serving the archery, bowhunting and bowfishing markets. In combination with the other businesses in our portfolio, we can now offer hunters the best mechanical broadheads, the best fixed broadheads, the most technologically advanced lighted nocks and the best bowfishing products in the industry.”
Muzzy Products Corp. has been in the Musacchia family for decades.
“My family is pleased to pass the reins to Feradyne’s President and CEO Rich Krause,” said Michele Musacchia Eichler, CEO of Muzzy Products. “Rich is a bowhunter and recognizes and will continue Muzzy’s dedication to producing the No. 1 fixed blade broadheads and bowfishing equipment in the industry.”
